What is Women Therapy?
Each woman—whether cisgender or transgender—faces her own set of challenges in the world. No two experiences are the same, but there are common threads. From navigating sexuality and parenting, to processing trauma, to managing relationships and work-life balance, women often carry a complex emotional load that deserves space and support.
Since my very first internship at Gateway Domestic Violence Services to my time at The Empowerment Program, I’ve been passionate about helping women feel heard in a world that too often tries to silence them. In my practice, I hear familiar themes: some women want to talk about the pressures of parenting or need help navigating intimate partner or family relationships. Others are healing from trauma—whether from childhood, family systems, or domestic violence. Some are in the process of separation or divorce and need a safe, grounded space to make decisions and find clarity. Others are navigating discrimination, burnout, or identity shifts in the workplace.
I also support women in navigating decisions around parenthood—whether that means choosing to become a parent, choosing not to, or feeling uncertain somewhere in between. The path to (or away from) parenting can be deeply personal and complex, shaped by identity, relationships, health, values, and life circumstances. I honor all choices around parenthood and provide a space free of judgment, where your needs, doubts, grief, or excitement can be explored with care.
Sex and sexuality are also welcome topics in therapy. Many women come to me wanting a safe place to talk about desire, pleasure, identity, or past experiences that still carry weight. You might be navigating sexual trauma, feeling out of sync with a partner, exploring kink or non-monogamy, or simply wanting to reconnect with your sexual self. Whatever your reason, this is a space to talk about sex openly and without shame—at your pace, on your terms.
Whatever brings you in, I provide safe, informed, and affirming care with the specific needs of women in mind.
